Huron Valley State Bank Collaborates with Open Door Outreach Center To Make Birthdays Brighter

In the spirit of giving back and spreading joy, employees of Huron Valley State Bank came together once again for a meaningful cause—supporting the Open Door Outreach Center’s Birthday Bag program. This marks the third year the Bank has participated in the initiative, with employees collecting donations throughout the month of July. The items were delivered on August 6, 2025.

The generous collection included cake mixes, frosting, candles, sprinkles, party supplies, small toys, and more—everything needed to help a child in need celebrate a special birthday. These items are assembled into birthday bags and distributed to families through the Open Door Outreach Center.

“It’s wonderful to see how our team and community come together for this cause year after year,” said Joan Green, CSR Supervisor and Marketing Committee Member at Huron Valley State Bank. “It’s about more than the items—it’s about creating happy memories for children who deserve to feel celebrated.”

The initiative is led by the Bank’s Marketing Committee, which includes Joan Green, Lisa Brown, Sheri Miles, and Eric Shubitowski.
“We're incredibly thankful for Huron Valley State Bank's continued support,” said Dawn Danhausen Marketing and Development Manager at Open Door Outreach Center(ODOC). “These birthday bags bring smiles to so many children in need, and the demand has only grown. Every donation helps make that joy possible.”
