On Friday, July 31, Huron Valley State Bank donated $550 to Huron Valley Blessings in a Backpack to assist with adopting five children for the 2020-2021 school year. This will provide six meals each weekend during the entire school year to those five children who are part of the schools reduced or no cost lunch program.  A big check was presented at the Huron Valley Schools District Office.

On Tuesday, June 30, Huron Valley State Bank donated $500 to Hospitality House to assist with providing nonperishable food to local families in need.  A donation in this amount will purchase the equivalent of $1,500 worth of food. A big check was presented at their facility located in Commerce Township. 
 

On Friday, May 15, Huron Valley State Bank donated $500 to Open Door Outreach Center to assist with providing nonperishable food and ancillary services to Oakland County families in need. A donation in this amount will feed up to 1,500 families. A big check was presented at their facilities located in Waterford.

On Thursday, April 23, Huron Valley State Bank donated a variety of shelf-stable protein products along with soup and crackers to Meals on Wheels to assist the senior community. To facilitate this program and maintain proper social distancing measures, the bank enlisted the support of other community partners. Huron Valley State Bank purchased the products from the local grocery store, Matti’s Fresh Market. Then worked closely with MiAbilities, a local non-profit to transport the items to the local field office of Meals on Wheels.

Once a month, Huron Valley State Bank holds a special Casual for a Cause (Jean’s Day). This program allows employees to wear jeans in exchange for providing a donation for the designated charitable need. The causes are either for an individual in need or a large-scale community program. In 2019, the Casual for A Cause program raised over $1,600.
