Huron Valley State Bank Announces the Appointment of Martin R. Drews to Vice President / Chief Innovation Officer

Jack Shubitowski, President and CEO of Huron Valley State Bank, is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin R. Drews to Vice President / Chief Innovation Officer.  In his role, he will be responsible for technological innovation and information security initiatives.  In addition, Martin will oversee the development and execution of the bank’s strategic technology plan, providing in-house technology support and solutions, and helping with the implementation of various project and initiatives. 

 

Martin is joining the team at Huron Valley State Bank, as Vice President/ Chief Innovation Officer. With a combined 30+ years of technology and financial services experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge encompassing numerous facets of information technology and cyber-security. His passion for technology started when he was young, learning from his father who was in telecommunications industry as a Manager of the General Telephone Company. 

 

“This is a new position for Huron Valley State Bank and a testament of our commitment to offering a bank with strength, stability and information security to our community,” said Jack Shubitowski, President and CEO.  “Martin’s extensive skills in technology and cyber-security will be a great asset to the bank and we look forward to him taking our technology to the next level.” 

 

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Adrian College, prior to receiving a Master of Science in Information Assurance with a Chief Information Security Officer specialization from Walsh College. Additionally, he is a designated Certified Information Systems Security Professional by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium.

 

“I am excited to return to my hometown of Milford to work for a community bank with a customer focused ethos,” said Martin.

 

Martin lives in Milford with his wife. His son works at a large tech firm out of state.  Outside of work he enjoys travel and is active in the southeast Michigan cyber-security community.
