Huron Valley State Bank Supports Hospitality House with a $500 Donation

On Tuesday, June 30, Huron Valley State Bank donated $500 to Hospitality House to assist with providing nonperishable food to local families in need.  A donation in this amount will purchase the equivalent of $1,500 worth of food. A big check was presented at their facility located in Commerce Township.

“Since the start of COVID-19 the bank has partnered with many community non-profit organizations with the goal of providing resources to those in need.  We are ecstatic about collaborating with Hospitality House to expand our outreach. We look forward to making similar donations in the future that demonstrate what it means to be a community bank,” said Jack Shubitowski, President and CEO of Huron Valley State Bank.

“Hospitality House has seen a drastic increase in clients throughout the past couple of months.  We received the same number of clients in 60 days that we usually see in a year.  With a lack of fundraisers that follow social distancing guidelines, we are thankful that Huron Valley State Bank and others in the business community have stepped up,” said Donovan Neal, Executive Director of Hospitality House.
Hospitality House has a mission to minimize deprivation in our community by providing food and assistance to those in need, while maintaining the utmost respect for the dignity of the individual. Hospitality House works to fulfill this mission by operating a food pantry and providing referral services.  In addition, Hospitality House also provides advice and aid to pantries in other cities as they work to fight hunger in the greater southeastern Michigan community.

Huron Valley State Bank has a proud history of giving back to the community through sponsorships and donations.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many of these programs are postponed or cancelled for an undetermined period of time. In April, the bank supported Meals on Wheels to provide food donations for pantry bags to the seniors.  In May, the bank supported Open Door Outreach Center with a direct donation.  If you know of an organization in great need to support its fellow community members, please contact Marketing@hvsb.com and the request will be reviewed by the Sponsorship and Donations Committee.
