Huron Valley State Bank Hosts 9th Annual Document Shredding Event

August 16, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Milford and Highland Branches

Milford, MI, July 2025 – Huron Valley State Bank is inviting the community to its annual Free Shred Day on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at both the Milford and Highland branch locations. Individuals and local businesses are encouraged to bring up to four banker boxes of confidential documents for safe and secure on-site shredding, free of charge. Please note that shredding is available until truck capacity is reached.

This year’s event also coincides with Huron Valley State Bank’s 20th anniversary, making it an extra special opportunity to celebrate with the community. “As we mark 20 years of serving this community, we’re proud to offer services that go beyond banking,” said Jack Shubitowski, President and CEO of Huron Valley State Bank. “Shred Day reflects our ongoing commitment to protecting our customers’ privacy while giving back in a meaningful way.”

All the documents will be shredded securely by Shred Legal, an on-site document shredding and recycling company. The shredding takes place inside a secure area within the truck and there is a camera to watch the shredding as it takes place. The shredded materials are then recycled and reused to manufacture household paper products.

The bank is also collecting small electronics for their partnership with the Detroit Zoo and Ecocell. The collection of small electronics not only mitigates their impact on this earth, but the proceeds will be going to saving Gorillas at the Detroit Zoo. Small devices include cell phones, iPad/tablets, iPod/mp3 players, GPS, smart watches, air pods/earbuds, VR headsets, digital cameras, and cords. Please ensure all devices have been wiped clean of data.
