Huron Valley State Bank Employees Provided Six Thanksgiving Food Baskets to Local Families

Employees at Huron Valley State Bank donated food items to fill Thanksgiving baskets with all the fixings for six families in the community.  In early November, the bank announced its annual food drive collecting over four hundred items of canned or boxed non-perishable food items, and fresh potatoes and butter, and pumpkin pies at both of its branches and financial center. The Bank topped off each food basket by providing a voucher for a turkey at The Village Butcher.

“Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the need for food assistance is higher than ever.  This year our staff donated an overwhelming amount of food to support this program.  Each of the families received a basket full of food for not only a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but also enough non-perishable food items to last for a couple of weeks. This is an employee driven program spearheaded by Susan Bowen in 2014 that has grown over time,” said Jack Shubitowski, President and CEO.

“We are honored to have collected such a large quantity of food this year, providing dinner to six families in the area,” said Susan Bowen, Vice President of Mortgage Lending.  “We, at Huron Valley State Bank pride ourselves in supporting the community we serve.”
