Huron Valley State Bank Employees Give Back to the Community Casual For A Cause Program Raises over $1,100

Milford, MI, January 2015 – Once a month, customers and visitors to a Huron Valley State Bank branch may notice the employees dressed casually. The last Friday of every month marks the employee driven Casual for a Cause program, which allows bank employees to pay to dress casually and collectively contribute to worthwhile causes. In 2014, the bank raised over $1,100 in monetary donations and several large bins of non-perishable foods.

The program assists both internal Huron Valley State Bank efforts, such as the canned food drives during the holidays, as well as a number of community organizations. Directed by Nellie Corey, Customer Service Representative, a committee of employees determine the organizations and causes to support each month. "Our customers embrace this program, and they show their support by giving donations," said Corey.

"Huron Valley State Bank takes great pride in giving to our community. The Casual for a Cause program further shows the commitment of our employees to the betterment of our communities. The monetary donations provided directly by our employees through this program are meaningful," said Jack Shubitowski, President and CEO.

Through this program last year, the bank gave to special memorial funds, and personal families in need, including: YMCA Strong Kids, Relay for Life, Community Sharing, Community Sharing Pet Pantry, the AMP, Special Olympics, and more. This program has been in place for four years and each year the amount collected increases.
