smsGuardian is tied to your Huron Valley State Bank Debit Card, and provides text alerts to your mobile device, triggered by situations in which your card was used

Elan also offers a text alert program for your Huron Valley State Bank credit card. By signing in to your account and providing your mobile number, it will automatically setup the fraud alerts. 

 

 

You can receive text messages when your Debit Card has the following activity:

  • Purchases greater than $300
  • Is used out of state
  • Is used at a gas station
  • More than 5 transactions in 24 hours

Upon a suspicious transaction, Elan can send a text message to the mobile device asking if the transaction is legitimate while placing a temporary block on the card.

 

As a card member, you can then reply yes or no. If it is legitimate the block is immediately removed and you can continue to use your card.

 

 

If a transaction is legitimate, you can simply ignore the message. If the transaction is fraudulent, you can reply to the smsGuardian text with the code that you received and your Debit Card will be blocked from further use. You have up to twelve (12) hours to respond to the message.  Our fraud department will immediately begin the investigation of the transaction upon receipt of your message indicating it is fraudulent.

1. Login to your account
2. Click on profile
3. Select update contact information
4. Answer the security question
5. Verify the information
6. Enter your mobile number
7. Select as the "preferred method"
8. Review the information for accuracy
9. Submit

 

 

To enroll, simply click the enroll button at the top of the page. It will direct you to an enrollment page.

You can also setup various alerts through the alerts feature. This includes:

 

 

You will need to provide the necessary information of your card number, last four digits of social security number and zip code. Then you will be asked to send a text message from your phone to opt-in to the service.  This opt-in is a crucial part of the process to communicate to the fraud center that you wish to receive alerts. 

- Online statement available
- Balance exceeds a certain amount
- Payment is due

- Payment is posted
- Payment is overdue
- A credit is posted
- A debit is posted

 

 

You may discontinue the receipt of Alerts by texting the word STOP in reply to a Guardian Alert.

You can discontinue the receipt of Alerts by logging back into your account and disabling this service.
