Huron Valley Bancorp, Inc. Announces Stock Transaction

Huron Valley Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: HVLM),The holding company for Huron Valley State Bank, announces the purchase of 49% of its stock from its largest shareholder John H. Welker, and the simultaneous sale of the shares to twenty individual accredited investors. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Mr. Welker was one of the Bank’s founding members and has served as director since that time. As part of the transaction Mr. Welker has resigned his position as director of the holding company and Bank but will remain a valued friend of the organization. “Mr. Welker was largely responsible for establishing the bank in 2005 and has been a strong advocate for community banking. I greatly appreciate all of the support and guidance Mr. Welker has provided over the last eleven years” said Jack Shubitowski, President and CEO.

Huron Valley State Bank Celebrates Money Smart Week

Money Smart Week, a nationally-sponsored campaign dedicated to helping families better manage their financial resources is held the last week of April. To support this program, Huron Valley State Bank hosted a poster contest for elementary age students in the Huron Valley district and presented a segment on financial literacy to families at the Highland White Lake Business Association’s Money Camp.

Huron Valley State Bank Celebrates Bank at School Partnerships

Huron Valley State Bank (HVSB) and three local elementary schools, Spring Mills, Johnson, and Heritage celebrated the success of the Bank-At-School program. This is a student-run bank located inside of the school that teaches hands-on financial literacy, money management, and provides for real life banking experience. Students applied and interviewed for positions earlier in the year, and were trained for actual banking positions to accept money from their fellow classmates to deposit into the bank. The schools celebrate the end of the year program with a ceremonial pizza party where all student bank customers and bankers enjoy food, fun and fellowship.

Huron Valley State Bank Employees Give Back to the Community Casual For A Cause Program Raises over $1,500

 As a community bank, the employees of Huron Valley State Bank embrace giving back to the community. The monthly “Casual for a Cause” program occurs the last Friday of every month which allows bankers to dress casually and collectively contribute to worthwhile causes. In 2016, the bank raised over $1,500 in monetary donations.

Huron Valley State Bank Announces the Appointment of Tilly Williams to Vice President / Credit Manager

Jack Shubitowski, President and CEO of Huron Valley State Bank, is pleased to announce that Matilda "Tilly" Williams has been appointed to Vice President / Credit Manager. In her role she is responsible for managing all credit functions for the commercial banking group.

Tilly joined the team at Huron Valley State Bank in late March of this year. She has over 35 years of banking experience, twenty five years focused in Commercial Banking and Credit. She most recently served as Regional Credit Officer of the Business Banking Credit Administration for First Merit Bank (previously Citizens Republic) where she was responsible for Commercial Credit Approval for a large portion of the bank's commercial footprint.
